Hello all,
I am thinking of purchasing my first r/c gas helicopter. I have no
expierence in any gas r/c areana. By this I mean I have not owned any radio
control vechiles. I think that a helicopter would be alot of fun, so I was
wondering what advice everyone could give. I would like to know of any
restrictions when flying in florida, what helicopter is a good learning
helicopter, how money will it cost to purchase and fix, how hard are they to
fly. Any other info would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks in advance and I eagerly await your responses. Also, anyone in the
Tampa Bay area?
Thanks,
Shane

Find a local heli club if possible. Visit them, take their advice.
Get a simulator for your PC.
You'll need to spend $800+ unless you go second hand (in addition to the
heli and radio gear, you'll need starting equipment, fueling gear, tools
etc.)
Get a decent computer radio - see what the locals use and get the same -
good for buddy boxing, and help with setup.
Most of the '30 size' - raptor, shuttle, etc. make a good first heli.
Martin.
