Hi all,
I got to fly my CL Tiny at our indoor (at last!). I found that the flaps are WAY too big for CL use and so have locked them up. The s400 7.2 on 7 cells (270ma) was good enough for a solid feel at the end of 8 m kevlar lines, but a careful wingover was the best we could do...I tried a loop and have just finished the repairs.....
Next step is to go to 8 cells and a gearbox. Maybe even 10 cells, depending on the ratios avaliable. This projest IS sucsessfull and a lot of fun. The RC guys seemed impressed, especially the entire control system costing less than $1......
There were two other indoor CL models there and all flew well. Just switching on and letting the battery go nearly flat works fine, the model was only a tethered car for a couple of laps and I was able to bring it to a stop with full "up", walk out to it and turn it off myself. The battery was not "dumped" too low. I had an RC model there as well, but much prefer the "hands on " of the CL model... I can feel a twin coming on... :D
