I have a concept-srx with the 2mm rod-inside-a-pipe drive. The
instructions do not say to grease the rod, but it seems like it would
be a good idea given all that metal on metal...

Do others grease this part?

Yes, the shaft should be greased. Double check step 18 of the instruction
manual supplement:

"18. No lubrication is required on the GEARS. Liberally grease the inside
of the tail drive pipe and wire."

I used to run a brass tube with the 2mm wire inside and for SURE I greased
the bejeezus out of the wire. I "stuck" grease the full lnegth of the wire,
then "worked" it into the tube (a bit in and a bit out while twisting the
wire until it was all the way through the tube). Never had an ounce of
trouble with the tail drives after that.

GP,

Would you believe I don't have a manual supplement? I have 3 manuals,
and no suppliment (probably lost them all). All I have is the
pictures, and there is no little "grease here" icon on step 18.

Do you know where I can download the supplement? Any chance you could
scan it and post it here? Do you think Kyosho would send one to me?

Thanks for your help!

Try http://www.rchelibase.com/concept/c30srx-s.pdf (you'll need Adobe
Acrobat, of course).

That word "LIBERALLY" makes the point well enough Greg:-)
