View Full Version : Raptor 50V2 - Needs more t/r authority???

I flew my new raptor for the first time yesterday and was very pleased.
It flies great. very smooth and the TT50 has lots of power. My only
complaint is the slow piroutte(if thats how u spell it) rate. I can turn
alright with the torque, but against it is too slow. I want a faster
prio rate so I can do some 3d but I dont know how to get more authority
out of it. Is there a speed up gear I can get or some other way to
increase my piro speed?
Thanks,
Andrew

How about bigger/longer tailblades ?
On my Shuttle's the pirouttespeed is really beeing speeded up with longer
and slightly wider tailblades.

No need for any of that upgrade crap, what you need to do is setup your
gyro/tail mechaincs properly.
Now you don't say which gyro you're using, so that information should see
you in posession of the CORRECT method of getting the desired pirouetting
rate.
If the gyro is responsible for holding back the spin rate, doing ANYTHING
mechanical (including upping the speed of the tail) won't have much effect.
The problem needs dealing with at source, so let us know which gyro you're
using.

I found the problem on the runryder forums after I talked to someone at the
heli field yesterday. It was the 401 gryo limiting the piro rate. I setup
the ATVs to give full mechanical swing but didnt use the gyro limit, so it
didnt work right. Now I have my ATVs and 110% and the piro rate is awesome.
Thanks,
Andrew

It does make me wonder why Futaba bother writing instruction manuals!
