I just got my first R/C car, a DuraTrax BX buggy. I am wanting to upgrade to a Hacker Brushless motor and ESC. Does anyone know which motor and pinion would be a good fit? Remember I am just a beginner.

Thanks

stay away from novak's brushless.
I have no experionce with brushless, but many peoply i know are not happy
with the novak's, and they use their brushed 10winds again.

Really? I was considering a Novak brushless system. What were the
complaints? I don't like Hacker because they don't have any real
performance numbers. At least Novak gives you the output power.

I guess the reviewers aren't brave enough for a shootout, yet.

As far as max power output, I'd say it's a safe bet that Novak's current
brushless offering would be blown away by Hacker and Lehner's best 6 cell
setup. Lehner has some systems that will double Novak's mediocre 196 watts
of output power. Heck, a good brushed setup would probably top 250 watts.

This table is a copy of one on the LRP website.

like you see you can come easely over 200W with a brushed motor.
If Novak stucks below 200W waths the use upgrading.

8 x 2 Vampire 52000 243watt
9 x 2 Invader 47000 238
10 x 2 Psycho 43000 232
11 x 2 Magic 41000 228
12 x 1 Cool Man 39500 226
12 x 2 Mr. TC 40000 225
12 x 3 Bee D 40500 225

I read that brushless motors put out more power per watt.....
