Hey guys
I was flipping through a magazine a couple days ago, and I saw a review for the model tech P-47. It looked really good, and i might just have to buy myself one. How respeonsive is it, and could I handle one after flying an Extra 300? I've wanted a P-47 for a long time, and I'll have one shortly if i hear good things about the model tech. :)

I bought a Model Tech P-47 last year and I love it! If you're used to building sport planes, you'll appreciate the cavernous servo bay in this model. After all the electronics and hardware are installed, it still looks empty. Other than a few minor errors in the construction manual, the plane went together without a hitch.

The P-47 is really quite docile in the air and easy to control (generous dihedral). I bolted in an O.S. 91, which makes the Jug a real screamer. The plane is quite well made and beautifully finished. The 70" wingspan version comes complete with flaps preinstalled. While the flaps don't slow the plane significantly during landing, they sure look great. (I wouldn't suggest the P-47 if you haven't had experience with low wing aircraft.)

The plane has no quirky characteristics, that I've found. You'll need to keep some power applied on all landings, as with most warbirds. All-in-all, I think the Model Tech P-47 is a great plane for the money.
