View Full Version : Help! Surprises at the field

I just returned from a two week business trip, and decided to see if my thumbs would still work. When I arrived at the field, I was surprised to find that the cricket guys have apparently renewed their interest in playing, and have started to excavate a new cricket pitch right square in the middle of where we usually fly. I'm not sure why they decided to relocate it, but it is now somewhat in the way.

In addition, the lawnmower is missing from its usual place under the tree, and is nowhere to be found. Does anyone know what happened to it? It will certainly be a disappointment if we will not be able to keep the grass cut, as the park dept. only cuts it every three weeks or so. :(

Don, who oversees allocation of the space at VOA. Is there clear support for a set area for RC electric flying? I've been out a few times and I look forward to flying this summer.

The West Chester park department is in charge of the space at VOA, at least the area of the park that we occupy. Two club members - Paul Siegal and Ted Biggs, have been instrumental in securing the northeast corner of the park for our use. This open area is not used for soccer or other sports except the occasional cricket match. It can be accessed by driving on the single lane road just north of the east ending of the main road in. To insure that there are no frequency conflicts, this is the only area that should be used for RC flying - silent only, of course.

Hope to see you out there.

Thanks -- I am transitioning from gas to electric. I have a lite stik, GWS Mustang and NES Acrophat. Flown the lite stik a few times when no one was around. See you at the field.

The good news for the park flyer crowd is that the concrete cricket pitch is long enough to ROG from; however, landing is another story (how much landing practice have you had?).

The bad news is that I have noticed a lot more activity with cricket practice, so I believe the games will be starting soon, just in time for the hottest part of Summer!
