Hi all
All the oil has leaked out of one of the shocks in my nitro touring car &
the shock almost seized. So now I need to know what type, grade & viscosity
oil to put back in it.
Oh ya & how much to put back in the shock.
So if any one can help me out with this I would greatly
appreciate it.....Thanks

If you're not too picky, then go with 50wt silicone oil. Just fill it up,
work out the bubbles, thread the cap on just barely, and push in the piston.
With the shock compressed, tighten the cap the rest of the way. If you want
more complete directions, then check out this link:

While you're there, check out the rest of Kerry's fine website.

In his Nitro Motor Tuning Basics he says "a glow engine uses a fuel that is
a mixture of Nitro Methane, Ethyl Alcohol, and Castor Oil"
but it's Methyl Alcohol, or Methanol, not Ethanol. and what about synthetic
oils? not many half decent fuels use castor now 'cause of the carbon
deposits. They do use a small amount of castor, but the rest is made up of
synthetic oil.
anyway the site still looks good.
