Hi guys,

My question is wrt a pesky Torq 12. I bought this engine off a guy about 4 months ago, and I am having a heck of a time running it. With my curiosity gland secreting, I started to dis-assemble the engine. to my surprise, it was missing the shim/gasket for the cylinder/head and the piston sleeve seemed misaligned....obviously not the first time this engines been taken apart.

Anyway, my question is concerning the re-alignment of the piston sleeve with the cylinder. I cannot find any discernable markings or pins on the cylinder to help with the re-alignment, however there is a notch on the liner.

How or with what, do I align the liner notch with to correctly install the liner? I'm not totally familiar with the porting of the engine, so I couldn't use the ports effectively to assist in my alignment.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dewey,

The notch on the liner goes directly perpendicular to the back of the
engine.

If you can't get it to work can I have the crankcase? See my post from the
28th.
