Stu I fly at Forth Model Flying Club - Lanarkshire. I live in Livingston so
it's about 15 miles to the site. Where do you fly?

I checked it out - looks rather tasty. Is the head V1 or V2? By that I
mean does it use the same feathering shaft, thrust bearings, radial bearings
and dampers as the V1 or V2 head? No point in paying for more shiney bits
that still introduce blades to boom :-)

Clyde view heli club in Blantyre

www.rcaircraft.info is the club website, if you would like a look.

You would be welcome anytime, infact if you are in Livingston, it is about
40 minutes from there, all motorway

I met a chap who flys with your club sometime in April I think. I was
flying at a site near my house in Livingston and this guy was with someone
with a trials bike - the land is actually owned by Tescos and is used by
many as a trials/ motocross track. That wasn't you by any chance was it?
If it was, you'll probably remember me with my Raptor 30.

V1. But the feathering spindle is tough s/steel and its rock solid. You
get all of the bearings etc in the kit. Need V1 dampers only.

Me too Tor, but so far, with the new TT engines, I've not had anything to
hate:-) Remember though, I've no experience of the FIFTY, just the 39 and
the 70, but seeing as both of those run superbly, I don't see why the same
shouldn't be true of the 50.

However, if you're unsure of the TT, and you're happy with OS performance
and price, then it's not a hard decision to make.

I had the same thing happen a month ago with my V1 Rap 30 while doing
flips at about 60 ft. When I heard the _CRACK_ and saw the blades
tangle, I just killed the engine and saluted. It landed flat on its
side. I was very lucky...

Broken ball screw on one rotor grip (replaced grips)
Broken flybar control rod (replaced rod)
Bent spindle and flybar (replaced both)
Trashed the blades (have spares)
Broken horizontal fin (replaced)
Bent boom (have several spares at $4 ea.)
Two broken servo horns (plenty of spares)

Cost me less than $40 to repair. Was flying again the next weekend. :-)
