Is there any chance of making navigation lights with parts from Radio shack? I was thinking of making my own. I only want flashing ones like the ones on ww.kurtek.com The only option I want out of the chip is the flashing light.

If anyone can tell me what parts I would need to make 2 LED's flash at a 2 blink per second and pause per 1 second = 120 blinks per minute i'm guessing, It would help me out alot. since i don't know much about circuit parts. i just know some of the resistors for the LED lights to cut down the volts to install on my computer.

I see that their chipset doesn't look any complicated to do. I just want the blinks thats all.

IIRC, Radio Shack sells an LED that blinks without needing any outboard circuit; just power it up and it blinks. But I think it's only available in red. You'd also want a green one, too, if you are making navigation lights.

Fry's Electronics sell those for cheap. I don't know what their blinking rate is. I want it to fast blink twice between each second. instead of a steady blink. If I can't find out before i get my plane in from order, i'll just use my two clear LEDs and keep them on with the ESC. but the blinking is cool.

Couldn't help it. I had to get these lights before I get my wing shipped in. So I went to walmart and bought me these Tire Valve caps that blink. Did a little taking apart things and soldering wires to the chip. and i got 2 Blue navigation lights for my XE2 wing.

I soldered the wires to the chips and left 2+ foot of wire on each LED. then I crimped them together with a female adaptor. I used a extra extension servo wire that came with my radio and used the male servo plug.

My radio is a 4 channel radio but came with a 7 channel reciever. I pluged in the LED lights to the 7th channel. And blink blink it goes.

Cost: around $5 for both LED's
