I am wanting to put a gas engine in a Dumas 40" cris craft triple cockpit barrelback boat. The area that the engine goes is plenty wide and long. But it is only 4.5" tall in that area. So I can't fit one of the large gasoline engines (zenoah ect..) that are available, because it will be exposed out of the hole in the top. I don't want to lose that scale appearance. So I think I am stuck putting a glow engine like the os 81 VR-M,or a os 46 VX-M in there.

Are there any smaller gasoline engines out there that are under 4.5 inches tall? The weedeater types and others appear to be over 6 or 7 inches tall. And I would like the engine to fit inside the lid.
Any product recommendations? I like the idea of having inexpensive, and readily available fuel.
I would appreciate any advice you have for me.
Thanks

You'll be lucky - the spark plug is usually 2 inches high minimum (Exposed
part, longer including the internal part obviously)

I seem to remember seeing some glow>diesel conversions. Try

for some info.
