On vacation in Florida I visited a guy who Ive been helping get his U-boat running. A few problems but overall a good day. His is a 32nd P hull and is 83 inches long. Nice looking boat.

I don't build 'em but I'm interested. Here's one I saw at the Harrogate Model Engineer Exhibition a few weeks ago.
Nice crisp model - no info available though.

Looks like a Robbe U-47. Ive built and sold a few. Its plastic and around 67 inches long. It does not have ballast tanks which means you have to force it under with some speed. Some have modded it but adding ballast tanks to it is a real challenge.

I tried making a bathtub USS Skipjack, Revell model. Didn't work. I still have to paint my PVC sub, though. Subs are so cool :)

Umi - looks like the tide came in and your boat couldn't keep up!
-or was it a stern anchor with a short chain?
On another tack (?) I'm posting some pics later today, taken at the Harrogate ME, of some boats you'd like to sink.

Actually it is Tachikaze's ship.
I just like posting the picture.
The cause of it's current prediciment was three 6mm rounds to the port side.
It is doing a pretty good submarine imitation though.
