Has anyone tried running 2 gyros on rudder and elevator for
a hovering 3D machine. Can they be switch on and off from the
Tx ???

Can they be switch on and off from the Tx?Yes, some can. Requires a spare R/C channel and a gyro with remote gain or remote on/off. Remote gain is a standard feature on most R/C heli gyros.
I've never used a gyro on a model plane, but I plan on trying gyro assisted ailerons for a camera plane (for stability).

GWS makes a device called the Pass-Con for controlling the on/off
of in flight gyros by using an auxilliary Rx channel.

Another Ezone member has reportedly used a gyro on the airlerons of
his video equipped plane and has stated a significant improvement
in the smoothness of the videos, i.e. no more nausea from watching them. ;)
