Sorry I am new to this thing. Has anyone ever heard of Smartech? How do their cars rate? I am unable to find a website. There is a guy on Ebay selling a gas powered model in box new WITH a color minature camera for cheap. Price seems WAY to low.

I have been in the sport for about 2 years now, and I am just starting to build my first scratch-built racer. I have NEVER heard of smartech. I would geuss that this is one of those bad ebay deals. It might help for you to go to a r/c racetrack or r/c car club near you, there are usually some people selling there old cars cheap.

Unfortunately nothing like that around here. There is only a few hobby shops in the area that even carry R/C cars.

Probably too late, but my 2 cents. Stick to a brand name for 3 reasons - A.) Parts are more readily available B.) assistance from other racers C.) better chance of another racer having a spare so you don't miss out on the Main event. I have not heard of Smartech, but I would not touch it unless it was a Losi or Associated - these two manufactures are winning national events. Strongly agree with Ziggy14. I've been in it for about a year and have already landed the Club VP position, guess the 12 cars (9 Losi, 3 CRC, 1 associated) and 4 classes per race day helped swing the vote.

If you are going to race it is very nice to know that there are others in the club who will loan you a part.

I JUST BOUGHT A SMARTECH 1/10 SCALE BUGGY WITH TWO SPEED TRANSMISION,ITS CALLED A WINNER SPORTS ITS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN ITS (SMARTECH) BUGGY WINNER 3.THIS IS MY FIRST NITRO BUGGY,BUT I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THE SPORT FOR YEARS SO I SIAD I WOULD GIVE IT A TRY.I KNOW I PROBABLY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET PARTS FROM LOCAL HOBBY SHOPS BUT I CAN GET PARTS FROM THEIR WEB SITE AND A PLACE CALLED EXCELL HOBBYS.FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD ABOUT THEM SOME OF THE FIRST ONES WAS'NT ABLE TO DEAL WITH HEAVY THRASHING AND SOME WERE PERFECT.SO THAT SAID I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF RACER OR DRIVER YOU ARE.WHEN I TEST IT OUT NEXT WEEK I WILL POST MY RESULTS.

hi rob
i think i have solved a stalling problem with my storm racer, i cleaned out the carb them fitted a good inline fuel filter so i'm not Relying on the cheap one built into the tank and no more stalling:) and thats after an hour of mole hill leveling, my favourite sport.

I actually have come to own a huge parts lot for the Smartech T-Maxx clone (I think its called the Speedy Tiger), so for those of you are having a hard time finding parts, shoot me an email. Also I have just started listing most of these parts on ebay. jeffr265@gmail.com
