Anyone flying this heli ? Have one myself, but have heard lots of "bewarned
stuff" about it. Anyone who have had problems ?

Hi,
I have an SRII and I think it is an excellent heli. The quality of
most parts is very good and the mechanics are very tight. It flies
extremely well too. What problems have you heard about it?

Well i have been told that the fan and fanhousing allignment is poor, and at
high rpm it can be sloppy. Had some problems with this on my old Concept 60,
but it seems fine on my SR II. But i have been told that my big concern is
that it is only 2mm screws on the pitch transfer, and that those screws are
also short. Also that the tail gears are wery easy to break/breakable.
Last friday i took it out for this season first flight. After one and a half
tank, i notiched some weard flopping sound, so i took it in for landing, and
and as i pulled of some thottle to make it decend, i got some major
vibrations. Gave it some more throttle and vibrations stopped, managed to
set it down and killed the engine.
After the rotor stopped, i notiched that one rotorblade, was hanging down.
Checked it and found out that the cyclic pitch rod uper screw (the one that
goes in to the main rotor grip) was broken right of flush with main rotor
grip. So actually i landet my heli with only one blade in function, ...
lucky.
Have you had any problems/difficulties with yours ?

Got one myself , great heli for all types of flying..Only probs i've had are
a slight wobble sometimes in the hover -upping the head speed gets rid of
this, the gears soound a little mismashed but they are ok & the price of
spare parts , they don't come cheap.Other than that good heli.....
cheers

Yeah what's with the spare parts prices? I'm dreading a crash because
the replacement carbon tail boom with the tail drive goes for around
£80 which is a fair smack.
Besides that it seems to fly very well. I also have the zeal fan and
it runs very well. Running carbon blades, zeal mixing arms and
powering it with an OS 61 WC and a Hatori 650 pipe.
If it does crash I am considering putting a standard aluminium tail
boom on for £15 instead - does anyone know if this is a good/bad idea?
Will it work with the rest of the SRII componentry?

I think a standard aluminium tail
boom will do just fine. I had that on my old Concept 60, so i don´t think
there is an difference between them, exept that one is made of carbon....
