Can anybody think of a good reason why JR have decided that owners of the
new PCM 9X should have to go out and buy 8 AA batteries to use the thing?
If it was a 27Mhz 2-channel AM set for £35 then It'd be in fitting with the
spec, but it aint.

Seems very strange they should have done what they have done with the
batteries. JR seem to be losing the plot somewhat lateley methinks!!

My 3810, which I bought in March this year, came similarly equipped. Good
point about the NiMh replacements though!

I bought my PCM9X yesterday and it came WITH 1100mah tx & rx batteries, so
maybe the question should be why did the shop selling you the radio remove
them !!!

Bad move if its like the cars when the damp gets in the pressure joints on
the batt ends oxide up and bang off she goes! I give it 3 months of winter
in the UK before they change the design due to failures.

well apparently, Cyberheli (where I read about the missing nicads and the
battery 'holder' that was included instead) are supplying them with the
Nicad pack due to popular demand, for the time being at least.
