Hi.
I have been looking at a plan of a of a twin head autogyro which has got me thinking (this can only lead to trouble :D) can a gyro be made with the rotors along the fuse (ie one towards the front and one at the tail) instead of side by side? I was thinking that the rotors could be pivited so that one could control pitch while the other roll.
If it is posible to build a model like this that is stable, how would I calculate the CG?

Thoughts anyone???

I seen a plan for an auto gyro that looks like one of those double rotor helicopter. So puting a two rotors inline is possible other than that I don't know any thing about auto gyros.

Hi Mr Blood,
That was my idea as well. I was going to build a cartoon scale version for a bit of fun. If there is a plan like this it must be possible! I will just have to give it a go. I was worried that the first rotor would disturb the airflow to the second and cause all sorts of trouble.
I am still not sure how I would go about finding the CG but I will start building and worry about that later.
Thanks for your reply.
Regards
Phil

Try the configuration as a kite. You can estsablish the basic viability without a huge investment in time, materials, or invesment.
