Anyone want to talk about LIPO again? I've heard there are now packs that
can withstand 5C average amp draws and 10 C peak. Very expensive still.

They are too tiny. I lost mine before I could even test them out. Someone
is using them as a bookmark or something ;)

Thunder Power. Check here:

Here:

and search the EZoneMag discussion lists for 'Thunder Power' for a
number of testimonials on what these do. This type of setup will totally
transform electric flight. I'm just waiting for the next generation or
two of cells (probably here by middle-late summer) to reduce the number
of parallel cells needed (for hopefully lower cost).

E-Tec deliver full-capacity at 4C+, and rated for 7C continuous. They are being flown
at 9C peak (most notably by Rainer Hacker, who is the German distributor now) in
aerobatic models using throttle management to bring average draw down to <7C.
The 700mAh cells have been tested by continuous charge/discharge at 7.5C (5.2A!) for
more than 100 cycles. At the end of the test, internal resistance had increased by only
a few percent, and capacity had dropped less than 10%. All E-Tec are rated for 200+
cycles at 6C.
