Hi All;
Finally got to test fly 4 models that were completed over the
winter months.
2 of them were made from left over spare parts of deceased models.
The X-1 flew like a nice sport plane.
The X-3 will make a nice trainer. Nothing special here.
The Fly Baby (Davey Systems) flew with the original size wing, but
I made it a little too nose heavy.
Didn't get a chance to try the larger wing I made for it.
It was a misty-light rainy day.
Finally
The oversize Lazy Bee Bipe I made using my 48" & 40" wings flew
just like a Lazy Bee should.
Looks like it will be a lot of fun.
If any one is considering doing this kind of conversion, beef up
the lower wing.
I broke the LE & one rib on landing.
I'm going to run the shear webs further out & add a lower spare
under the front top one.
Then add shear webs to it same as the rear.
Pictures of the LB Bipe will be on my web site as soon as I finish
the nose cowl & lower wing mods.
