View Full Version : Thunder Tiger Victoria: How to adhere battens to sails?

The plastic batten strips on my Thunder Tiger Victoria have a self-adhesive
backing that's supposed to keep them attached to the sails, which I believe
are made of nylon. The adhesive is probably too old, since the battens have
started falling off even before I'm done building the kit.. Does anyone have
any advice on an alternate adhesive or a different technique to make them
stick? Thanks as always...

Seeing as how this is the kind of job I only worry about late at night
after all stores are closed, I would've used anything available,
including CA. Battens don't need to be really stiff...I think I've
used quilting plastic stuff from a fabric shop which is pretty thing,
and sliced it really thin.....and used CA.
Good luck. Try the Victoria Resource Center starting at amya.net...

Well, Rob's right.
Lame-O Newbie that I am, I neglected to consider that there would be a web
page somewhere to supply the answer:
http://www.marinerc.com/sail/victoria/victoria_sail.htm
Again, my thanks. Maiden voyage is this Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Rocky Oaks
Park in the mountains near Malibu (an acre-sized pond).
