Sorry to hit you guys with so many so soon, but I'm still learning.
It seems the car runs fine for anwhere from 2-4 minutes and then it
acts like someone hits a kill switch. It just dies all of a sudden.
You can restart it,but it will die again. Any clue as to why it may
be doing that? I've noticed some racers run extra long fuel line.
But my son's has real short fuel line. Here are some photos of the
engine/hoses:

Many Thanks! (again)

Hi,
First of all, what is that green/blue stuff in your fueltank ?
The line lengt off the fuel line is good, the presure line however is to
short. You'le nitice that when you press on your (full) tank that there will
flow some fuel to the pipe. Acording to the manual you need at least two
coils wrapped to the pipe post.
But that is not you're problem !! I think it you're running the engine to
lean. Where is the piston when it dies ? hanging in the compression cycle
(top possition) ?
Apears to me it overheats, the needle i quit a bit in, but than I'm
comparing it to my .12 cv. What collor smoke do you get ? Did you do the
water test ?

Oops...I just found out my engine is the CV-X...not CVR. Anyways,
regardless the problem is still there ;-)
Thanks!

not exactly. with a worn engine, its just generally weak and always
difficult to start.
His problem seems more like an overheated cylinder that is causing
pre-detonation.....the 'bang' happens too soon and actually stops the
engine. Or even worse, the expansion cauises seizing.
overheating is usually caused by mixture, ventilation or load.
Just my $.02
I dont promise that this'll help, its just the common stuff to start off
with.

It may be, but I can tell you this for sure that it feels like it has
a LOT of compression when pull starting it. I will check into all of
this though. Thanks guys for all the input!
