Has anyone ever used a plane prop on a R/c car? I had an old Kyosho Elec R/c car an I decided to modify it a little. I first lightened up the "air" frame and removed the gearbox and drivetrain. I made a mount from a piece of light ply and mounted a speed 400 6 volt with a 6X4. I used a 8 cell 1700 mah battery and a jeti 110 for the speed control, I used the standard sized servo for the steering on the ailerons channel. I took it out for a test drive on the street. Powered up the prop and didnt move, gave it a little nudge and off it went. After it got up to speed it goes like stink! You should have seen the neighbors dog.... Will post pics tomorrow.

Hello,

That sounds like it was ALOT of fun, I am currently making my old traxxas nitro sport into a racer with a 2.5 hp engine and 2 speed tranny. There is one thing that could have improved on the prop car. You should use a prop with less pitch, Then it will accelerate easily. just thought I would let you draw on a lil of my aircraft experience,
