This message from "Nick Trubov" <ntrubov@swbell.net> brought to you by EFLIGHT!
Gentlemen, and lady,
I finally finished taping the tape and gluing the glue and had a chance to
fly the FIXX this evening. I remember reading a few comments pro (and even a
few comments con) about this aircraft when it first became available to the
discerning public after the trade show in Pasadena (or was it in Orange
county?).
I put off building mine because I already have way too many toys and there
was no pressing reason to actually spend the time (spend TIME? not on THIS
aircraft!) to get it airworthy.
Here are MY opinions of this plane. The design and product delivery is quite
excellent. The whole thing is very VERY elegant. No one thing is
spectacular, but the whole thing, taken together, is just fantastic. The
plane is so easy to set up and get ready to fly that even _I_ could do it.
And I _DID_! Sure, you could build a wing that flies great and costs only a
little less in money. If time were a factor I am sure you could find
something that would be a little quicker to get into the air. But, this
plane is ELEGANT. The whole darn thing was actually WORTH WAITING FOR. I
first saw an ad for it in the first issue of "Backyard Flier" which, I
believe, came out in June or July of 2001. It was a long wait for me. I was
very impatient, too, but Joe and Jerry and Heather were GREAT in keeping me
informed and sending me all sorts of "excuses" for the delay. Does that
remind me how LUCKY I am that I don't have to make a living selling toy
airplanes?
I just thought I would let you all know how a professional cardiopulmonary
perfusionist finds this kit.
Good luck with YOURS and I hope I see you in North Little Rock for the
S.M.A.L.L. fun fly at the end of this month.
