View Full Version : Do people still modify their OS-32sx's...Drill a hole in the carb? Grind down the crank web?

I have been out of the loop recently. 3 years ago there was an
article in MHT about drilling a hole in the carb (to help with the
idle setting I think...) and another article about grinding off the
webing on the crank shaft to allow oil to get to the engine bearing.
I had done these things, but I just ordered a new engine...do I still
need to do this, or are these problems alreadly fixed in the newer
engines?
Thanks!

Wasn't this the OS 46, which had a temperamental mid-range?

My OS32SXH benefited from the hole being drilled into the carb. It ran soooo
much better afterwards. Others who purchased theirs after myself had a
different carb (marked C-2 or something similar) and never had the slightest
problem.
