I am not new to R/C but am new to Gliders and soaring.
I have been flying a Sig four star 60 and various electric for some time.
I am looking for an easy to build ARF that will thermal well but is also durable. Larger wingspan is OK but ARF price should be under $240.
I want to use it with a highstart.
What do you recommend?

It sounds like the Art Hobby Boar, Velvia or Thermic would fit your needs. These are 80% ARF. The wood skinned wings need to be given a couple of coats of water based polyurathane varnish. They can be flown with a four channel radio but a seven channel programable radio is needed to get the most versitile control setups. the wings require micro servos for the flaps and ailerons.

Where can I purchase these planes? I would like to see some pictures and find out more.
I have a Futaba 9C radio so the mixing thing isn't a problem.

I currently fly the Art Hobby Thermic and find it to be a very nice flier but it does have a thin wing and likes a good thermal to float on. Were I fly there are a few guys that fly an arf called the Aspire. It flies very well also and is increadably inexpensive through e-bay. You can usualy find them for about $59.00.
