All--

I just built a pibros (american size -- 30" span vs. 800mm ~ 95% -- made out of foam core less paper). My airframe weight, built & covered w/ colored tape, is 125 g. I'll be using an R4P and micro 9 servos, for another 25g. , so that puts me at 150 g.

My question is, what battery should I use? I was looking at 2x Kokam 145 mAh, which would add another 7 g. Would those work? I took a swag & guessed that the rx + servos would draw ~200 mAh, so I'd get about 45 mins on a battery. Is that reasonable? I've never flown a glider before, so I have no idea of duration or power usage required.

I'll start with hi-starting it, but I'd like to learn to slope it pretty soon. (BTW, can you hi-start a Pibros? How much surgical tubing / how much mono-filamnet would be right for it? I'll have to build a hi-start, I don't have one yet)

I'm also planning on putting the same flight pack in a plouf, when it's done. How would that impact you battery suggestions?

thanks,
dave.
