I have a Futaba 8UHFs radio and the transmitter battery isn't staying
charged
like it used to so it's time to replace it. I'm about to get the 401
gyro with 9253
servo so figure this is good time to get a new rx battery also. The
8UHFs came
with 600ma tx and 1000ma rx batteries and I'd like to get larger
capacity ones.
As far as I can find Futaba doesn't make larger batteries. What
capacities would
you suggest, and what kind being as Futaba doesn't have any.
Thanks
Dave

Get NiMih batts for the Tx Dave. Same size, but roughly twice the capacity.

I stick with NiCads for the flying bit, but I use 2400mah's for that.

Futaba has a 1500 nimh for the rx. It is the one that comes with the 9Z I
believe the part number is FUTM 1285. I like the smaller lighter pack.
When I flew JR I used their 1800 which weighed around 6.5 ounces. The
futaba 1500 weighes about 4. I will fly 3 flights with it. If I fly more I
will throw it on the charger first.

I have overlander packs, never had a problem with them.
Maybe I'm the lucky one, but a hell of a lot of modelers use overlander and
you dont often hear of a problem.
Just my tuppence worth (britspeak)

I was wondering about the new lithium polymer batteries for my Piccolo.
anyone know where i can get these from? The reason i was thinking of this
was that the original pack that came with the Piccolo Pro caught fire on
flight number two. Now given my recent expereiences with the suppliers, i
just tossed it in the bin and i am looking round for alternatives.
