Hi,

My nephew has grown attached to the halftrack in the Playstation game
"Smugglers Run 2" and would really like a toy equivalent.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything even remotely similar to the
game's imaginary vehicle. Searching for "halftrack" models just nets
me lots of WWII and Korean era vehicles.

The game's halftrack is an oversize 4X4 pickup of some sort, somewhat
similar to a Land Rover. I don't know its real-world inspiration.
Its rear wheels have been replaced by Mattracks-style triangular
treads (www.mattracks.com). Can anyone point me to an existing model
or an R/C truck of this type? Barring that, is there a halftrack
conversion kit that would allow triangular treads to be attached to
either a normal die-cast vehicle or an R/C 4X4? (He and his father are
into R/C and could probably perform such a conversion if the kit
exists.) They'd like something in 1:16 scale, the more durable and
"playable" the better, but at this point I'd be glad to know of
anything resembling my description in either die-cast, plastic model,
or R/C form.

Thanks a bunch!

If you can find one of these:
http://www.kyosho.com/discontinued/kyoc0275.html

I'm sure that you could fabricate something.

There are probably still some available at hobby shops, or you could try
eBay.

The Blizzard was also available as a Nitro-powered model.

Good luck!
