View Full Version : Discussion Larger Easy Glider

I'd like to suggest a larger version of the Easy Glider as a possible new product for Multiplex. I like my Easy Glider a great deal and think that a larger version would be an even better performer.
A 2.5 meter version with the option of a 2 or 4 servo wing, priced at or below the Cularis, would be quite popular IMHO.
Just a thought!

I'm aware of the connection of Multiplex and the Cularis, that's why I used it as a comparative price point in my post.
IMHO, the Easy Glider's combination of airfoil, aspect ratio and wing planform make a nice performing model, that has much better slow speed handling than the Cularis. A scaled up version would have the potential to be even better!
By scaled up, I refer to the wings, stabilizers and fuselage length. I wouldn't add width or depth to the forward section of the fuselage.

i would buy the EG-Plus if it flew as well as the EGPro/EG.
To add, i would buy and compete with a EGPro full size *2m* in thermal contests.
I think they would have even more sales just by adding another 3 inches per wing.

Why not the Cularis itfself?I quote my post on the other thread: "From what I hear from Cularis owners, it is NOT a big EasyGlider. It is apparently much less floaty, and you need to keep speed up to prevent stalls. So, there is still a gap for a larger EG type of floater.. "

I don't agree that you have to keep the speed up on the Cularis or it will stall... while it is a different type of plane than an EZG, it is still a floater!

As an avid EZ Glider E flier I like it except for the T Tail.
Only reason I'm not crazy about it is providing good solid control to the elevator. If that's not and issue then YAY!
I actually can not tell you how many EZE's I have had, most went down in flames due to dumb thumbs. But I love this plane. Just picked up another to add in all of my tricks and tips I have learned over the last couple years.
I find it is still visible at 3000 feet and makes a awesome thermal glider.
I build them up in different configurations, Glider , performance. Last build was with a Power 10 up front and it is my primary fun plane.
Next one up will have a Park 480 920KV up front to reduce the nose weight a bit and keep the wing loading closer to spec. Also going to add flaps to this one and set it up for all possible flap/ail configurations.
These really are a great plane for begginers as well as experienced pilots.
I here tell it has been discontinued, anyone know if that's a fact?
Mike, hows the stock on hand down there? Might have to pick up a couple more for STOCK!
Merry Christmas to all.
