More durable for combat with friends, Blue Funder or Funder & Lightning?

the blue funder turned into the F+F....... I think the Muncie group has battle tested and modified this design to a great degree..... Look all thru the Muncie group F+F streamer combat design thread started by Sandy Frank for all the details...... I would choose it....

the twin boom looks cool but might be hard to keep together during the un-expected hits (mid airs and dirt naps)

I don't remember seeing it anywhere , but I add a piece of Bi-directional filiment tape across the center section on top of the wing.... it keeps the wing tips from splitting the wing at the center secton when the center section (motor) hits the ground first....

Which would you build for combat?The Blue Funder has a history of combat flying. They're fast, agile, and can take a lot of beating. Also, if you build them out of Dow FFF and hot glue, they're cheap, easy, and quick to build!

Now, that said...the Funder & Lightning is also a great deal of fun!! Granted, I designed the F&L so I'm a bit biased, but it has the look of a fighter aircraft vs. the Blue Funder which looks more like a 'drone'. :)

I haven't tested the F&L in combat but would easily say it comes close to the degree of agility as the Blue Funder. I've always wanted to try it in streamer combat but haven't found anyone locally who flies one. And, if you take the time to build one properly...you might regret getting it chopped into pieces.

So...if you're looking for cheap, fast combat...go with a Blue Funder. If you're looking for an awesome display of a P-38ish dogfight, go with the Funder & Lightning.

Thanks for the posts. For the ease and speed of building I have two sort of blue funders ready to go. I say sort of because I kind of did my own take on the Blue funder but they are very similar. I scaled them up a little to accommodate the power system and 2100mah batteries I have on hand. We will probably be doing some streamer combat with them this weekend so I will post some pictures.

I plan on building the funder and lightning as well for sport flying.
