The Ritewing named earlier by members of the http://www.parkflyers.org.nz comunity , the Haast, is destined to be the key to an abitious project, that will see it passed from Sloper to Sloper and make its way around New Zealand, along the lines of “Wings Across America” http://www.waa-08.org/ currently in progress.
I hope many reading this will join with me in making this happen.

I will be expecting signatures from every pilot on its journey, to help document this.
I feel this project will help raise the profile of RC flying in New Zealand, and show off some of the beautifull locations we have.
At the end of its journey, the Haast will be auctioned off on Trademe (or possibly sella) and the proceeds donated to charity. I will be aproaching the Life Flight trust to see if they are interested.
I am also documenting this on my blog site, and will be listing up proposed time tables, flying sites, pilots etc as we make this happen. http://kiwirc.com/blog2/category/sanz/
If anyone feels they can help me with the project, please step forward.
Many thanks already to Chris Jackson (Jacko) who is building the Haast as we speak.
Please join me on this adventure.
If you are interested in helping, please post here, or email me mathew@kiwirc.com
