Very cool (and probably a little dangerous).

It is very cool, and it does look a bit dangerous. I don't think wrend was complaining as much as he was making a statement of fact.

Of course in America if you do this and accidentally do shoot a piece of 2000 degree magnesium into a five year-old's eye then you'll get the snot sued out of you. Probably not so much in Lithuania. :) So in that regard it's a bit safer. :D

Zaitsevsky,

That really looked wild, did it hurt the Heli at all? Did you land both OK?

MDTV,

I have seen that happen in Iraq not that many flares at once but they landed amongst us our Blackhawk helicopter.

I was pissed off.

Who's complaining? I was just making an observation. ;)

The pyro on rc aircraft is a cool move. But the uncool thing is that some news reporters(aka "scare mongers"... :censored: ) have made some foolish remarks about the dangers of RC's and terrorism. Lets not add to their cheap 5 O-clock news tools of fear mongering. If you are going to embark on such an adventure of pyro rc be careful of others and yourself. Respect the hobby and fly safe. What the saying... fly low, roll tape? And have fun... I might be wrong but I think that an AMA event even had pyro on planes.

I may well have been a sanctioned event with this planned. None of that was disclosed. Here in the USA we recently had a big event (TOC?) where the big names used pyro-tech to get more points. And they did.

I had tried up to 1.5' (3.8cm) pyrotechnical barrels on my T-Rex600 - nothing happen.

so what would one use to simulate flares from a rc mig 29. Could be a cool scale effect?

what did u use exactly for an ignition system?

Zaitsevsky,

Thank for the reply. It just looked like some much was being shot-out from the heli that it may have damaged the ACFT. Glad to hear nothing happened. Really did look cool

Zaitsevsky,

Very nice vid! I love that song. You demonstrated so many different build ups and your own igniters in such a short time my head is still spinning. At least now I understand how your ACFT didn't get damaged during the firing of those pyrotechnics.

What it was?

A block of the colored comets

Preparation of the pyrotechnical block out of 48 tubes of the type “The Roman candle”, 15 shots in each. Seeking for more intensive shooting, two bunches, consisting out of 24 tubes, directed towards the opposite sides, must simultaneously ignite. As the result, 720 colored comets are shot within 30 seconds. The obtained tubes are shortened from the both sides and are glued into the one block. The weight of the block together with the fastening elements is 1 kg. The block was installed on the helicopter T-Rex700, the helicopter could perform the figure “piroflip”. Generally speaking, the helicopters, attributed to the class 50-90, endure shooting from the tubes with the caliber up to 1,5 inches.
