I see Tower has the Aerofly deluxe for the Mac in stock now. So I am about to order.
I need to know what TX's its compatible with out of the box, or if I need a cable.
I have spare Hitec TX's I could use, or I could use my Spktrum...
Suggestions and what do I need to buy?

I'm struggling with the same question. I can't seem to get a definitive answer to whether a cable for the DX7 is included or, if not, I need an adapter if one is available. Also, I wonder if the info on the Tower site is in error; it lists less planes etc. than the Platinum Edition (Mac) as on the Ikarus site.

Aerofly/Tower should have been more clear about this given the popularity of the DX7. I just responded to another thread:
I had what may be the same problem last week. You can look for my thread on RCUniverse, but the basic idea is that I got the same error message with my DX7. Mike from Aerofly replied that I needed an adapter to convert the three "pin" areofly cable to the two "pin" plug that goes into the trainer port on my DX7. I had a trainer cord laying around so I cut both cables and spliced the two wires inside the Aerofly cable to the two wires inside the trainer cable. I didn't know which wire went with which, so I just held the wire together with my finger while I started up Aerofly. Once I proved that I could fly, I soldered the two wires together. Works like a charm, and a trainer cord ($6) is less than the adapter that Aerofly sells ($20, I think).
Hope that helps.
Oh, so the correct configuration for my DX7 was USB dongle>3 wire adapter>2.5mm end of Aerofly cable, spliced to the trainer cord.
Good luck

Thanks Chris, now I know; I just have to convert the cable that comes with Aerofly from stereo to mono mini plug. Seems odd though, that given the DX7's popularity they don't provide an interface cable for it!
Still wonder though, whether the version that Tower sells includes the addons? Doesn't seem likely based on the price. Has anyone purchased it from them?

I purchased from Tower last week and my copy did not come with the stereo to mono adapter for the DX7

Did the version you bought from Tower include the addons as in the "Platinum" edition as shown on the Ikarus site?

I don't see anything about Platinum addition on the Aerofly website, but my version does have the USA, Team Edition1, and True scale add-ons.
