What is combat? I am new to planes, but not to helicopters. I was just wondering if you like tried to hit each other or what? And what happens to the plane when hit?

There are different types of combat, and yes one of them is full contact :D Even in the other forms of combat, collisions are a possibility due to having multiples in the air all manuevering around each other.

The full contact combat planes are usually reinforced but sometimes the collisions are still severe - so don't use anything you wouldn't be willing to repair or replace ;)

Streamer or ribbon combat is another form. I believe you'll see some posts below on this including pictures.

Combat is EXACTLY what it sounds like, two or more planes in some form of mock (or not with the full contact ones :D ) engagement.

appart from the sreamer and full contact types there are also "ranged" fighting that uses a simmilar principle to laser tag.

I see that you are in Bristow, OK. We have the most active RC combat activity (official types) in the entire US, right here in the DFW area. Check out the official website of the Radio Control Combat Association (RCCA) at rccombat.com The RCCA is the official special interest group (SIG) for combat to the AMA. We have a contest every month. Check out the calendar and forums.

There are also many "un-official" types of combat usually involving BluCor or other types of flat foam electric planes. The rules for this vary since it is strictly local in nature.

BEWARE!!! Combat is so much fun that it is addictive! :D

Full contact combat is ussually done with a tailless plane like a combat wing. I fly a
WW raider and repairs seldomly take more then a few minutes at the field. 1 of my planes (Still flys OK) has been in 200+ mid airs.

wingwarrior.com Raider 5 spar is my recommendation

We have about a dozen guys in the area now involved in combat. Use the Foaminator combat wing design. Split crepe paper down the middle with a band saw then cut into 20 ft lengths. The streamers definately add to the excitement. Full contact seldom ends in total destruction, usually "a little glue=good as new".

Big fun, try it, you'll like it.
