ive read some of the forums.i just registered so im a newby greenhorn.
i googled my problem and it sent me here.
i called banana and after finally getting through,i was put on hold and bumped off line.twice.almost a hour and a half on the phone.
has anyone had better luck after receiving a 4 cell batt.i hope this solves
the problem.if i had a1/4 mile runway maybe i would be better off..

Welcome to RC Groups!

Unfortunately, you may just be one of the unsatisfied customers with banana. Also, is this your FIRST rc plane, or do you have plenty of experience to fly this jet?

And good luck with the plane too:-) IMO you will need around 1400+ watts just to have a decent flying speed. Of course, the bigger the motor/battery gets, the heavier this plane gets :-)

Would this be a candidate for a pusher prop?

I was thinking the same thing, of course, as a pusher. It will be much lighter and with way better flight time. I know some will think... "Hey man, this is not a girl-ly plane with a prop, it's a JET with muscle!!...what's wrong with you!?" But, if given a try of course, after getting over the 3 to 4 minute flight times with sure brute strength, well, and if you, like me, :o don't have many batteries as some, then I think some may think flying with a good motor and prop will receive the same if not better performance and satisfaction in flying this plane that is so light with longer flight times AND without the complications with a edf setup environment...but just plain simple, clean motor and pusher-prop enjoyment..... hmmm, ...I'm Not saying you can't put a high performance motor with prop on this sucker to go 100 to 130 mph when you get the need for speed though :D :D  ...

I have the StarMax version (same plane no crappy electronics) I've been talking with the Don about power options and currently it looks like I'll be using two wicked 4000's in the knockoff Alfa fans on 4s for nearly 1:1 thrust.

The plane looks draggy airframewise so I don't expect it to be real fast even with a pusher. I do agree with anthodenn about pushers being more efficient and less complicated though.

I'm thinking that a pusher would be less wing loading for improved slow flight, plus with enough watts there would be some vertical performance as well. No sense trying to make it a speed demon.

I have the F14 too and get the wrong battery. I did put a 4S that I had while I wait and the thrust was significantly better. I plan to maiden it tomorrow or Saturday. It is a beautiful looking plane with it built. I plan to fly it stock, but with a 4S not the 3S that came by "mistake". They did offer to send a new one to me and did not ask me to send the 3S back which was nice Customer service.

I have to say, that except for a few customer service mishaps (shipped the wrong plane once, and the wrong battery this time) I love the products and have had great experience flying their jets. This F14 may be the exception and I'll be sure to post my maiden experience.

Interestingly enough I looked on the nice box cover that the plane came in and found that the battery type listed on the box was 11.1v (a 3S!) so maybe it is not Bananahobby's fault per se but the people who packed the box or whatever. Bottom line, this plane will not fly on a 3S 11.1v, but needs a 4S for the twin 60s inside to get more thrust. I still have not flown it yet, so don't know for sure. The motors claim to be 5000kv, and that should be plenty.

Anyway, I thought you all should know that the plane may be bundled with a 3s, but you are paying (and think you are buying) a 4S which it needs.

Banana hobby make bad business, 100% guarantee??! So many people had bad experience with BH. Well I hope Pete will do something about it rather than just promoting his new planes and making videos. He should be fixing problems, hey maybe he is too busy making videos
