Hey there,

I'm a grad student in Ottawa, at Carleton University. We're building a 16ft wingspan, 200+ lb UAV for Geophysical Survey. A new small UAS program was kicked off this year too (last week actually).

Are we Ontarians allowed to join?

Hey aero_k,

I'm one of your predecessors on from the Carleton UAV program. I presided over the destruction of the 2'nd ATB. :D I'm curious what the new small UAS program is? Have they flown a prototype of the GeoSurv yet?

Jeff, I pm'd you so as not to hijack this thread.
I posted some pictures from last year though. Almost everything has since been painted, so it looks a million times better now.

Theres a group UAARG (University of Alberta Autonomous Aerial Robotics Group) http://www.ece.ualberta.ca/~uaarg/UAARGV3/index2.html at the University of Alberta (of all places! :P) They fly their planes once or twice a month, usually advertised on the website.

I was a member for a short time in my undergrad but couldn't put enough time in because of time constraints with my degree. They're still doing good work and going strong.

I've started my own project to get a simple autopilot (stabilization and rudder control) going on my own time though since I've graduated.

UofA grad as well.
