Anyone have a 378? What do you think of it? I thought I might pick one
of these up and use it until the 9X is made available in the U.S.

I like mine.

does all I need it to. 7 Channels I thought I'd've come into problems by now
but I run a GV-1 & CSM 540 Gyro w/no probs.

I'd be interested in your setup as I'm just getting to the electronics
in my Rap V2 and I have a 378, a GV-1 and will probably get a 540 or
560.

I've got a CSM 400 on my Nexus and use the gear switch for the gain so
i suppose you have the GV-1 switched via the stick?

Yep Gear is used for Gyro mode selection (HH/Rate), and the gain of these
modes is set by the ATV of the gear channel in each switch position. (i.e.
ATV with gear up is setting Normal mode gain, and ATV of switch down sets HH
gain)

The GV1 is plugged I think into Aux2, and it picks up the Flight Mode
switching automagically, so my head speed changes to what I want when I
change into Idle-Up 1, 2 etc. and yes I use stick switching, so it kicks in
at 17% stick provided the rotor has already spun up to i think 70% of the
desired speed.

So although I'm no where near needing it ATM what happens when you want
to do an inverted climb out and need to bring the throttle/pitch back
to 0 do you have to program in a proper throttle curve underneath it( I
realise this would probably be a good idea in case the GV-1 fails) so
that the GV-1 never sees 0 throttle and switches off?

Is it not possible to get the GV-1 to switch on when you go to Idle Up
1/2 and be off on Norm and just use the usual curve there?

Sorry for all the questions but I find the GV-1 manual almost as bad as
the build manual that comes with an Ikarus Eco 8 and i thought that was
crapper than crap :-).

An Inverted Climb out would be in Idle-up, yeah? So bringing the collective
stick back/down would not register as below 17% throttle. It's not the
'stick' that the gov measures, but the throttle servo displacement.

Right so you have to set a proper Idle up throttle curve so the GV-1
knows where it is? I thought the manual was vague :-(

Yep, sorry you did ask that didn't you! And as you say, throttle curves
should be there incase the gov'nor fails.
The manual is extremely wank with the GV1. It makes it all appear very
complicated, when actually it's piss easy to set up and only needs one
channel when you use stick switching, which I'm sure must be the proffered
way of doing it anyway.
