Several of the pilots in our RSA Parade Grounds Lunch Flying non-club have build EPPYak55s from Depron instead of from EPP. They have been flying individually and together. Recently they started hover-combat together.
What? Just hover and see if you can gently touch the other plane without knocking either out of the sky. Well, sometimes one or both go down. :D
It's done close-in, slow, fun to watch, and relatively safe so far.
Anyone else doing anything similar?

A buddy and I do that indoors with the Pizza Boxes. As you say just, sort of bang into one another in a hover and fly away. More fun. :D

Jim,
Do you have any vid of this hover combat? It sounds really interesting.

None just now. I'll ask Jeff and Bob to do it again with Craig some time soon and to shoot some video. They are good at that stuff.

Jim,
Thank you the video will be interesting to see.
On another subject, I will be moving to your neck of the woods next month. Maybe one day we will be flying together... I will be in southern Al near Dothan.

Jim,
That looks like lots of fun and improves your hovering capabilities. One thing is the guys that starts out hovering first could almost be a sitting target for the inbound ACFT. After seeing the second posted vid I guess it really doesn't matter.
I will be moving to the Dothan area by the end of this month. You guys know of any good fly-in or some nice flying events in Alabama?
Thanks
John
