I want to build a quadcopter for my school year project. My school will grant me $5000 maybe $6000 in order to complete the project. I need know how to build the quadcopter butim confused about all the control board options. I know there is the arduino board, the new board that was made by a member here, and the mikrocopter board. I am also considering building a hexacopter. Does the arduino board support a hexacopter? I know the mikrocopter does. Are there any other board options? What is the best board? I want it to have gps position hold, altitude hold, ect. I have also heard of the wolfgang board but I dont know exactly what features it supports.

Lazer, have a look in the Multi Rotor Helis forum (http://www.rcgroups.com/multi-rotor-helis-200/)

If you click on the 'Search This Forum', do an 'Advanced Search' on 'quadcopter', and set 'Search Titles Only', you should find 18 threads on quadcopters.

Hopefully there should be the sort of information you are looking for.

Good news it looks like I will be getting some funding from my school. The other funders could be SRP, APS, Honeywell, and Boeing but I have to send some proposals to them.
