What is the overall purpose and objective of this position (why does the position exist)?
The objective of this position is to work with the Purchasing Manager to acquire, manage and maintain the inventory of Hobby Lobby.

Position requirements:
Candidates for this full-time position have excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills. Computer skills are required. MS Outlook, Word and Excel experience preferred. Access and Quickbase experience a plus. Statistics knowledge a plus.

List of the major responsibilities of the position:
1. Calculate and create purchase orders for merchandise lines in proper and sufficient quantities to meet the Purchasing Department goals of high fill rates and high margins while keeping inventory levels within four to five turns per year.

2. Verify goods received from vendors against our purchase orders and enter those goods into our business computer system.

3. Communicate with vendors to verify order shipping dates and items which are backordered and maintain this data in the purchase order system.

4. Input and maintain product data information such as costs, prices, descriptions, vendor information etc. in our business computer system and our warehouse management computer system.

5. Input new-item setups and proposed product changes into our product management database so respective departments can easily review details of new items and changes to existing items.

6. Review, analyze and correct inventory discrepancies between our warehouse management computer system and our business computer system.

7. Help warehouse staff with receiving shipments as needed.

8. Maintain stock of Office and Printed Supplies.

9. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
