OK i didn't know where to put this on RCGs so here will have to do

Look at this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-2-Scale-Spitfire_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q 3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1688Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_tr ksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem3a50e8e059QQitemZ2 50465542233QQptZUKQ5fCPVQ5fAviationQ5fSMQQsalenots upported

its not mine.

Im starting to think that even three hacker A200s together couldn't power this thing!

tell me what you think

EDIT: Here is a video of a huge 1:2 Me-109:

Looks like it would be a pig, or even a huge cow. A 10 horse 3 phase 480 motor might not fly that.

It doesn't have the characteristic gull wing trailing edge the Spitifre has. Looks like it's a scaled up version of a small model.

It looks like a really, really bad idea.

Might be cool to put pedals on it and let the kids pedal, around in it.

Possibly a movie studio could use it for a WWII scene ---like a distant strafed British runway

Seriously, you have to give credit to whomever at least attempted this

They made things like that for WWII. Used them to deceive the enemy doing recon shots. Also made inflatable tanks and the like. Like the above said, movies use these kind of things for props. Seems they used quite a few full sized ones for the movie Pearl Harbor.

I'd like to see what he was going to use for power.

Very ambitious. It would be fun to hear the background story.

Mike Loehle has been producing these "stick built" ultralight & expiremental warbird kits for yrs.. Saw the P51 fly @ "Sun & Fun" in Fla many yrs ago & from the latest info it appears a wood Spit is available. http://www.loehle.com/SpitfireKit.htm
The bipes are an alum tube/gusset/pop-rivet const w/ the P51 & P40 being wood. When the 5151 kit first appeared I believe basic airframe cost was $3500 less eng.. Seems since Bombardier (Rotax) began producing commercial business aircraft, the costs for thier dependable small 2 stroke aircraft engines has gone up, up, & away from the average UL buyer & as well everything related .
A local UL buddy who worked for Lohele at the time did the extravagant paint work on his planes but has since moved back here near upstate NY.
If you can build a model, you can build one of these.
