Just wondering if anyone modified your JR Spectrum antennas for improved reception, or lengthened for use in Carbon planes?

Not Instead of buying a whole new Spectrum Rx as I would like to know what is required to lengthen the antenna whiskers. Any specs would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can use a short length of good quality coax with the Rx end soldered to the antenna pad and the shield soldered to Rx ground. Strip ~1.2 inches of the shield off the other end for the antenna portion.

is there a limit to the entire length of coax?
such as one antenna is 12" long and the other 24" long? I realize it's just the end of the coax that is trimmed to expose the center wire.

That's going to depend upon the characteristics of the coax but for all practical purposes I would keep it as short as possible to avoid signal loss. Try the 2 feet length & see how it works out.

I have not tried this, but I would think the coax and antenna from an old laptop would work. check local repair shop, my last job we though out tons of them when replacing the displays
