Hello folks,

A while ago, a mate of mine had a system on his models where he had done away with the usual switch harness, and had a jack plug socket in the fuselage side.

A plug fitted into this turned the model OFF, and when removed, turned the model ON.

He then had a similar plug on the charger, which plugged into the same socket to charge the plane.

Can anyone explain how this works, and how to make up a system like this, as it seems an ideal solution for those smaller models which can be stored and transported with the wing on.

Cheers

Matt

Could have been an audio jack (1/8 inch?) or a barrel type power jack. Both are available with switching contacts that are normally closed and open when the plug is inserted. Current rating on the switch is usually rather low so only useful on small models.
