What size battery? Looks like a square AA pack might fit but will be tight.
Bought the plane built without plans. Had one back on the day, one of the
best planes I have owned.
Thanks

Places like Servo City list the dimensions of the servo or battery pack. I'd probably figure out the larges NiMH battery that would fit and go with that.

I use a two cell CR123 (non-rechargable) in mine now. Back in the day, it was flying with a 2/3AA pack (350mah) NiCD in a square configuration. That nose is very tight.

Back in the day the S600 was designed for a 500mah square pack that shoud fit perfect.

I have a couple kits left after selling one last year. Plans were for 225mah pack with cells side by side and on end in plane. 2/3AA back then. You can get 2/3A Nimh (~1200mah) in there today. That original battery size is 1 1/8"H x 5/8"W x 2 1/4"L.
The 2/3A will be 2 1/2" long but will fit the other dimensions.

Thanks, That is what I wanted to know (what the plans call for)
I have a NiMH 650mah 1 1/8"H x 5/8"W x 2 1/4"L that will be perfect.

I'm rebuilding a 900 now and I need some inspiration (and would LOVE to trade it for a 600 if anybody is reading this). Can't help it, I'm a fan of 2 meters

Seems that I am missing the wing rod. Is 7/32" the correct dia?
7/32" it is.

Don't be surprised if you need a lot of nose weight. Also, mine was prone to breakage just in front of the fin. Perhaps both problems were caused by a heavy stab, but mine wasn't the only one that needed a lot of lead. I solve it by adding a bit of balsa on either side at that location, tapered on either side.
7/32" is right, same as the original Olympic 2, believe it or not. (Or at least same as an older Oly 2. I suppose they could have launched with #64 rubber bands and gone to a smaller rod.;-p)
Back in '89, I did pretty well with a Sagitta 600 in contests.
