View Full Version : Discussion Changing the weight and power on a Clearview model ?

Which parameters should I adjust to change the power and weight of a clearview model ?

I want to build an electric ugly stick like model for towing gliders. It would be interesting to play around with the power and weight on the Clearview ultra stick model to see how the handling changes as those attributes change.

So how do I easily adjust the power and weight of a clearview model ?

If I change the motor power and I reprop the model, how do I know what sort of RPMs the motor is reaching ?

Thanks

To change the weight, use the ModelMass parameter. To change the power, look under #begin motor and adjust powerCurveWatts.

As to your last question, I doubt the simulator would accurately predict prop rpm for your real model when you change the parameters, and I don't think there's a way to display it right now anyway.

Stefan, correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.

Is ModelMass in Kg ?

If I change the motor power curve, do I need to change the prop as well ? What if I would just increase the motor RPM and watts and leave the prop alone ?

I'm just trying to figure out how I am going to size the prop to the motor watts without having a wattmeter to verify I have it right.

Thanks

Under the motor & Prop params, you will find a line called debug 0.0
change this param to debug 1.0. This will display numbers in white writing on the bottom of your screen for rpm's and others. You should only use this for 1 param at a time. Yes Mass is in KG
