What's the hull type. If its a mono, a bit more strernward. Try about 35% from transom for starters. Did you scale down that crackerbox?

Martin is right, for a mono 30-35% is a good start. For a rigger you want it slightly behind the sponson transoms.

I always shot for around 28-30% on a mono, From the transom of course. The
riggers, I can't remember the exact percentage, but it was behind the rear of
the front sponsons a bit (sorry to be so vauge, it's been awhile since I've
raced/ran the boats).
