Just wondering if anyone has tried or heard of anyone who has tried the new 55mm motors and or HV speed controls?

Thanks

I'm waiting to hear some reports on them too. Scott Stoops mentioned that he's waiting for one to arrive for testing.

I'm using the Scorpion 4025-12 on a CC-HV85 and it works wonderfully. I'm very pleased with the purchase and its performance. Its flying my Top Flite Cessna 182 81"
I know its not HUGE scale, but 1/5 scale stuff is large for me :D

I know one of the only complaints is scorps use a collet type adapter instead of a bolt on type and at the extreme wattage put out once you get into giant scale some times a collet just doesnt get enough Bite. But that is "the" only complaint I have read. i personally fly a couple of their smaller motors and abslutely love them!

yeah....LOL. I had that flaw already show itself. On my inital spin-up (benched with the watt meter attached), I actualy had the entire prop and spinner assembly come off the motor! It was kind of my fault though, I didnt have everything perfectly tight as I knew I was going to take it all off and try a different prop anyways. Ever since then, I havent had any issues with it, and its been flown probably 5-6 times. Just make sure your collette is completely on as far back as it will go, and your whole prop assembly and spinner and everything is as tight as you can get it. Should be fine after that.

The 55mm motors have the bolt on style right?
