I have a chance to get some Villian IV 540 stinger motors. they are 20 turn. Are these brushless or would they be good for using on a powered 36" recovery barge?

Wow...that's going to be a good size boat! Pretty soon I won't need to bring tug "Belinda" to do the duty anymore...goody...more room in the car for sheet boat killers! :p
Die hard...you consider a "Springer"? I'm gathering the stuff to do one. I just haven't decided on what I want it to look like yet. It WILL be able to do the duty though. Setting and retrieving buoys and rescues.

From the numbers, brushed (if the can has holes, look in, see brushes) but check the number of terminals. Two terminal, brushed, three, brushless. 20 turn, so at a guess designed for very high revs and high current consumption. Not ideal for a recovery boat, but perfect for something that will need recovering soon.
