:D We got a new Field!!! :D
It is only the middle 33 acres in the middle of the 100 acre mowed area!
Our new field includes a building with a kitchen, indoor plumbing and tons of heated storage. We have power for charging batteries. This place is HEAVEN! :D :D :D :D :D
After all the work and losing the old field to soccer this is great! The SASS guys came out great thanks to some very hard work by a core group led by Sherman Knight. Way to go Sherm. SASS lives!
The dots in the picture in the field are pilots flying. You cah't believe just how big this is. More on it later!

HI Guys,
Here is the real question, as far as I'm concerned, do you allow electric sailplanes to fly there too ????

Yes. :p Sailplanes only. Electric assist sailplanes are OK. This is a strictly sailplane field only. No power, no electrics.

Bob,
Under the rules for flying at Camp Korey that SASS and the property owners came up with, electric assist sailplanes are allowed. More information about the field and membership to SASS can be found at the SASS website:

Come on out and fly with us and check it out!!!!
This site is really amazing-a privately owned piece of farmland that is part of a retired 800 acre dairy research farm and now home to Camp Korey, a medically supervised camp staffed with physicians, nurses and trained camp counselors for children suffering from serious and life threatening illnesses. Camp Korey provides a week long experience for children ages 7-16 at no cost to the families. It is part of the Paul Newman Association of Hole In The Wall Camps. They actually approached the club to have us come and fly there, partially due to the low impact nature of the sport and to offer something different for the campers to enjoy.
The site certainly will allow SASS to host major events and we are working on purchasing equipment to be able to run these major events.
We are really proud of all the hard work that went in to negotiations with King County and Camp Korey to realize this site and have to say thanks to all those of you out there in cyberland that wrote letters to the King County Council and others in local govt. in support of RC Soaring-it really paid off!!. Acquisition of the site is due in a large part to grant monies made available by the County to get us to quit writing letters and showing up at meetings!!!
Thanks all that lent support and come on up and fly with us!!!

Thanks Brian. Now that the soccer war is over. I'll be happy to drive out to Carnation and have a look around.
